The technology of mass production of vaccines for solving problems on a national scale requires large batches of egg embryos, incubated for up to 10 days.
The vaccine virus is grown in eggs, since the flu virus reproduces well in them and eggs are easily accessible. This virus must first be adapted for use in the production of a vaccine. To make the vaccine virus less dangerous and more capable of growing in chicken eggs (a technology used by most manufacturers), it is mixed with a standard laboratory strain of the virus, and conditions are created for their joint growth. After some time, a hybrid virus is formed, containing the internal components of the laboratory strain and the external components of the pandemic strain. It takes about three weeks to get a hybrid virus.
To solve the problem of producing 10 day old embryos, in 2008, «Pokrovsky plant of biologics» and Stimul-Inc signed a contract for the development and supply of specialized incubation equipment that meets the high requirements of the industry.
The results of all tests are documented. Selective quality control of finished products is carried out by the all-Russian state Center for quality and standardization of medicines for animals and feed FSU "VGNKI". All types of finished products manufactured by the company are subject to mandatory state certification.
The immediate requirements for the incubation equipment were: functional reliability of all systems, high-quality software that controls the incubation process, manufacturing materials that meet strict sanitary standards. The equipment must be adapted to the technology of vaccine production.
